As a type of linear slide, the THK slide not only possesses the characteristics of a slide but also has its own performance characteristics. THK slides are made of the best bearing steel, possessing the excellent hardness and polishability of bearing steel.

The THK slide is also a precision part with good dustproof performance. When splicing THK guides, pay attention to connecting them in three sections. The lengths of the three sections should be as long as possible, but try not to make them equal in length. Equal lengths will cause the interfaces of the two side slides to be in the same position, affecting the usage effect. The distance between the mounting holes on both sides of the two interfaces in the middle should be kept as close as possible to the standard measured distance, making installation more convenient. The guide interface cutting surface cannot be chamfered; otherwise, the running route of the connected components will have pits, affecting the operation of the THK slide. For ball retainer type products, even if the slide is moved out, the steel balls will not fall off. For other models, there are two situations: with ball retainer fixing function and without ball retainer fixing function. For products without ball retainer fixing function, the steel balls will fall off when the THK slide is moved out, which can be solved with false rails and plugs.

It was visually apparent that the linear guide rail was damaged. When the equipment on the guide rail was lifted with a crowbar and the slider was removed, it was found to be damaged. Due to severe rusting at the mounting points of the slider and rail, it was difficult to remove the slider when disassembling it, which may have caused the damage to the linear guide rail. When we tried moving it again after replacing it with a new slider, the movement was still very poor. It is estimated that simply replacing the slider would not only cause it to be damaged again, but may also damage the rail and rack.
