The linear motion unit is mainly composed of a base, front and rear bearing mounts, a cover plate, and a slider. A corrosion-resistant, high-strength aluminum alloy is used for the base. High-precision linear guide rails are installed on both sides of the base. The aluminum alloy slider is installed on the linear guide rails, and the center of the slider is connected to the nut of the ball screw. The motor drives the slider reciprocating movement through the screw. The aluminum alloy cover plate is installed on the upper part of the slider for overall protection. It was visually apparent that the linear guide rail was damaged. When the equipment on the guide rail was lifted with a crowbar and the slider was removed, it was found to be damaged. Due to severe rusting at the mounting points of the slider and rail, it was difficult to remove the slider when disassembling it, which may have caused the damage to the linear guide rail. When we tried moving it again after replacing it with a new slider, the movement was still very poor. It is estimated that simply replacing the slider would not only cause it to be damaged again, but may also damage the rail and rack.
