What issues and installation methods should be noted for the clamping device used with the HTPM Kate linear guide?

The HTPM Kate linear guide clamp is a replacement for the German ZIMMER brand clamp and is the best clamp brand made domestically. Kate clamps are used by many companies in China, mainly in the automation industry.

Kate Clamp Installation Method:

1. Install the clamp after the guide rail and slider are installed. It is recommended to install it between two sliders.

2. Install the clamp in the disengaged state on the linear guide rail, ensuring that the clamp can move without the clamping mechanism contacting the rail.

3. Hand-tighten the hex socket screw of the clamp and temporarily secure the clamp to the slider.

4. Perform clamping actions on the guide rail, repeating the clamping and releasing process more than 10 times.

5. With the clamp clamping the guide rail, tighten the bolts to the specified torque using a torque wrench. Release the clamp and ensure that the clamping structure does not contact the guide rail (move the slider back and forth and compare the friction with that before the clamp is fixed. If the friction increases, loosen the bolts and readjust the clamp).

6. Finally, check for leaks in the air or oil tube connections.

Points to Note:
1. Normally closed clamps have shims between the clamping mechanisms at the factory. Do not remove the shims during installation.


2. To avoid uneven load, clamps should be installed on all guide rails.


3. For air filter with filtration of 25um or less, air tube with outer diameter of 6mm or more is recommended. The larger the outer diameter, the longer the response time.


5. Shorten the air tube length as much as possible, as longer air tubes result in longer response times.


6. For CPD and CPDS series clamps, the contact area of the M5 mounting hole is small. The mounting through-hole connecting the clamp to the workbench requires a 59g hole with a C0.1 chamfer at the contact surface of the clamp.


7. Hydraulic clamps use ISO VG46 hydraulic oil. When supplying oil, make sure to bleed the air from the oil tube and clamp. Connect the hydraulic connector, supply oil at low pressure, and carefully loosen the hex socket screw on the other side of the clamp until oil flows.


8. It is recommended to use a normally closed solenoid valve with a short response time with the clamp.
