THK Ball Screw Manufacturer: Two Common Circulation Methods of Ball Screws
When using ball screws, there are situations where the ball screw is disengaged from use or remains in contact with use. These two situations are divided into two circulation methods, namely the commonly referred to inner circulation and outer circulation. In essence, inner circulation means the balls maintain contact with the screw, while outer circulation means the balls lose contact with the screw. Below is a brief introduction to the two circulation methods of ball screws.

1. Internal Circulation
For inner circulation, it is mainly achieved through an inverter. Inverters are actually of two types: one is a cylindrical cam inverter, and the other is a flat oval inlaid block directional indicator. Compared with these two inverters, the latter is smaller, but requires higher precision in the applicable environment, mainly requiring higher precision in the dimensions of the outer profile of the inverter and the grooves on the nut.
2. External Circulation
At the end of the ball circulation process, it returns to the ball screw nut for circulation through the spiral groove of the nut or sleeve. This circulation mainly involves the end cap, sleeve, and spiral groove. Among them, the sleeve technology is better, but the sleeve protrudes from the nut body, so the size is relatively larger. This external circulation structure has a much simpler manufacturing process and is widely used.
The circulation methods of ball screws are mainly internal and external circulation. When choosing, it mainly depends on the requirements of the usage environment and the usage situations of each type. The external circulation type has a low cost, but the gap of the raceway is not smooth enough, and it still has a certain impact on the smoothness of the ball raceway.
THK Ball Screw Manufacturer: The Main Working Principle of Ball Screws
Ball screw drives have high transmission efficiency and accurate positioning, making them a widely popular and favored transmission component in industrial machinery production. As is known to all, it mainly converts linear motion into rotary motion or rotary motion into linear motion, and the switching between the two is relatively safe and convenient. The main principle of the ball screw is to improve transmission efficiency and make positioning more accurate. The principle is described in detail below.
First, the original trapezoidal screw, which is also known as the screw, has been basically replaced by the ball screw. The main reason is that the principle of the ball screw is that when rotary motion is converted into linear motion or linear motion is converted into rotary motion, as a transmission component, it can both improve transmission efficiency and achieve accurate positioning.
Secondly, the corresponding linear motion can be quickly realized. For example, when the ball screw is used as the drive body, the nut can achieve the corresponding specification conversion following the rotation angle of the screw. That is to say, in this case, the passive workpiece can be connected to the nut seat or nut to achieve the corresponding linear motion work. In the final analysis, the main principle of the ball screw is that it can quickly convert rotary motion into linear motion, and the switching between these two types of motion is relatively easy. And it can ensure accurate positioning during the switching between the two. As a transmission component, the ball screw has excellent efficiency and precision and can be used in many situations.
That's all for today's introduction from THK Ball Screw Manufacturer. Thank you for watching.
