Clamping Device Structure and Function
A clamping device consists of a clamping body, actuator, clamping element, and contact element. It is a high-performance functional component used with rolling linear guideways and linear shafts, providing functions such as worktable fixation, precise positioning, vibration prevention, and rigidity enhancement.
By assisting or replacing existing brakes, position fixers, and drop prevention mechanisms (brakes, balance cylinders, counterweights attached to motors or engines, etc.), it can improve equipment performance.
Clamping device applications: Compact structure, installable between two sliders. Can be used at any position on linear guideways and linear shaft products to maintain position. In case of power failure or other emergencies, it maintains position, prevents drops, and improves equipment safety.
Enhances the rigidity of the mechanical structure, preventing deformation, sway, and vibration. Pneumatic or hydraulic power sources can be used. Suitable for automated position fixing operations.
Advantages of Clamping Devices
By increasing structural rigidity, it improves production efficiency. Examples include preventing tailstock lifting in horizontal lathes and preventing robot arm vibration in mobile multi-joint robots.
Achieves fixed positioning of mechanisms; features miniaturization and low cost. Examples include fixing drill bit position and vibration prevention in aluminum window frame machining machines, and fixing cutter position in belt cutting machines.
Prevents drops and provides braking; miniaturization improves safety. Examples include emergency stops for linear motor-driven shafts in machining centers, and low-cost and energy-efficient pneumatic and hydraulic power sources. Also applicable to cost reduction in press machine motors for insertion machinery.
