What is a ball screw guide?
A ball screw guide is a high-precision linear motion product. The ball screw and guide can be combined to form a linear motion system; the ball screw is responsible for positioning and converting rotary motion into linear motion, driving the guide movement; the guide is responsible for transferring components to the target position.
Ball Screw According to the circulation method of the ball, it can be divided into external circulation type and internal circulation type.
Internal circulation type: The ball does not leave the ball screw surface during the circulation process. The internal circulation type has a simple structure design, small nut outer diameter, and can be miniaturized. Its advantages are relatively small ball running resistance, excellent sensitivity; less friction loss, high transmission efficiency; shorter ball return, good rigidity, and high running accuracy. Therefore, it is suitable for small and medium lead, medium and low speed occasions, such as 3D printers, small and medium-sized medical scanners, etc. However, the return ball groove of the internal circulation type is a spatial curve, which is S-shaped and difficult to process. The nominal diameter, screw outer diameter, and screw thread raceway of the ball screw pair have high processing requirements.
External circulation type: The ball leaves the screw spiral raceway and circulates inside or outside the nut when returning. The external circulation type ball screw pair has a larger size and is suitable for occasions with large loads, such as large heavy-duty machine tools.
