The classification of linear guide materials is mainly based on the different manufacturing materials. Linear guide materials are mainly classified as follows:
1. Steel guide rails: including stainless steel guide rails and carbon steel guide rails. Steel guide rails have high hardness and wear resistance, suitable for high-load, high-precision mechanical equipment.
2. Aluminum alloy guide rails: Aluminum alloy guide rails are lightweight, easy to process and install, and have good corrosion resistance, often used in occasions where equipment weight needs to be reduced.
3. Cast iron guide rails: Cast iron guide rails have good wear resistance and impact resistance, and are mostly used in heavy machinery.
4. Engineering plastic guide rails: Engineering plastic guide rails have excellent wear resistance, self-lubrication, and corrosion resistance, suitable for occasions with low precision requirements and harsh environments.
When selecting the material of the linear guide rail, it is necessary to consider the actual application needs and working environment comprehensively.
The materials of the slider are generally divided into two types: carbon steel and stainless steel. (Stainless steel linear guide rails should be selected in places where corrosion resistance is required).
Common surface treatments for carbon steel linear guide rails are as follows:
1. Low-temperature black chromium plating (black surface, similar to blackening treatment) is lower in cost and has higher corrosion resistance compared to stainless steel.
2. Chrome plating, the surface plating film has very high hardness and excellent wear resistance.
