Most people are familiar with THK cylindrical linear guides, but few fully understand them. Today, we will explain THK cylindrical linear guides through their precision and structure.
(1) Guiding Precision: Guiding precision refers to the accuracy with which a moving component performs linear motion in a given direction. It mainly depends on the geometric precision of the THK cylindrical linear guide itself and the clearance of the THK cylindrical linear guide mating. The geometric precision of the THK cylindrical linear guide generally includes: straightness in the vertical and horizontal planes; parallelism between the two surfaces of the THK cylindrical linear guide. (4) Sufficient Rigidity: Under load, the deformation of the THK cylindrical linear guide should not exceed the allowable value. Insufficient rigidity will not only reduce the guiding precision but also accelerate the wear of the THK cylindrical linear guide surface. Rigidity is mainly related to the type, size, and material of the THK cylindrical linear guide.
(5) Good Structural Processability: The structure of the THK cylindrical linear guide should be simple, easy to manufacture, inspect, and adjust, thereby reducing costs.
(6) Good Lubrication and Protection: Due to the different precisions of various machines and the different uses of THK cylindrical linear guides, the design should focus on the requirements for the THK cylindrical linear guides of the designed machines, emphasizing some aspects while considering them comprehensively.
