The purpose of preloading is to eliminate backlash in the screw and reduce errors caused by axial elastic deformation of the rolling elements under external loads.

For example, when purchasing ball screws, do not choose cold-rolled screws. Cold-rolled screws will have low precision. Some manufacturers have designed elements with increased friction in the screw shaft, and the wedging effect produced when the ball screw nut squeezes the balls between the screw shaft is a potential source of friction. Increased friction will inevitably increase torque, affect positioning accuracy, and result in a significant reduction in the life of the ball screw and increased production costs for the enterprise.
